Global Facility Solutions’ Energy Report indicates $45K in annual cost savings and a 18% reduction in electricity consumption at the National Federation of the Blind’s Baltimore Facility
Mt. Airy, MD – October 6, 2010 – Global Facility Solutions (GFS) released its annual Energy Report for the National Federation of the Blind’s Baltimore facility today measuring a 18% reduction in electricity consumption and over $45K in annual cost savings since the turn-key retro-commissioning project began at the facility.
The National Federation of the Blind (NFB) turned to GFS to implement facility upgrades designed to improve system operation and reduce building system deficiencies. The Energy Report is part of GFS’ ongoing performance review.
“As a not-for-profit organization, every utility dollar saved by the National Federation of the Blind enables the organization to re-focus those saved dollars back on their core mission,” says Robert K. Calloway, P.E, president of GFS.
As part of the turn-key energy project, GFS provided energy auditing, systems engineering, project management, commissioning, O&M documentation and on-going performance measurement for the NFB.
“By teaming with the NFB facility group, we were able to identify significant savings opportunities within the facility and correct operational issues that have been plaguing them since the building was opened 5 years earlier,” says Calloway. “The key here is that it’s not always the older buildings that need help, new buildings (those under 5 years of age) may have significant opportunities for energy savings as well.”
Operating without product affiliation, GFS focuses on providing customers with energy and facility solutions to help them optimize building performance, reduce operating costs and deal with every day issues that plague commercial building owners and operators.
