Global Facility Solutions announces $5.4 million blanket contract agreement with Howard County Government

Columbia, MD – Global Facility Solutions (GFS) was awarded a $5.4 million, long-term blanket contract agreement with Howard County Government to provide Energy and Performance verifications on County Government projects. The 14-year contract includes a one-year optional extension through a cooperative purchase with the Baltimore County Public School System.

“Howard County Government continues to invest in their facilities to reduce its energy and carbon footprint with a focus on sustainability,” said Robert Calloway, P.E., President and Founder of Global Facility Solutions.  “This blanket agreement with the Howard County Government will reduce energy consumption in a number of county-owned buildings.”

The project will include building operating performance testing and retro-commissioning of existing HVAC systems and controls. GFS will identify areas for energy improvements, such as adjusting temperature set points, modifying outside air volumes and recommending equipment repairs.

“These building tune-ups are much like taking your car to a mechanic for a check-up,” said Calloway. “Preventative maintenance and repairs in buildings can result in significant reductions in operating costs and improvements to comfort conditions within the buildings.”

The plan continues the partnership between GFS and Howard County Government. GFS previously acted as the commissioning agent for three new county office locations.

“As a business based in Howard County, Global Facility Solutions is proud to team with the Howard County Government in this endeavor,” said Calloway.
